The Terlan Winery was founded in 1893 and is one of the most progressive winegrowers' cooperatives in the whole of South Tyrol. Its 143 current members cultivate 190 hectares of vineyards, with a total annual production of 1.5 million bottles. For years, together with our members, we have taken the path of quality with commitment and perseverance, the same quality that has earned us fame and recognition on the Italian and international wine markets. This is why, despite being relatively small, the Terlano winery is now an established institution in its sector. In our modern facility, we exclusively mature DOC wines, 30 per cent red and 70 per cent white. In 2009, we expanded the ageing area to 18,000 cubic metres, also completely redesigning it architecturally. Today, our wines find there all the space they need to grow and develop fully. From the outside, the new wing of the building is clad in red porphyry, the typical rock of the area that gives our wine its distinctive characteristics. The roof of the cellar has been greened and covered with vines, seamlessly blending into the surrounding cultivated landscape. The distribution of the wines produced is divided into two clearly differentiated quality lines: the Selections and the Tradition line. In addition, each year we market a 'rare' wine, aged for at least ten years in our cellars, and designed to give visibility to our philosophy of wine longevity. The Organisation The Terlan Winery has a cooperative structure. President Georg Eyrl and Vice-President Hansjörg Hafner lead the board of directors - elected for a three-year term in 2020 - consisting of Anton Adami, Norbert Elsler, Christoph Patauner, Ulrike Gratl, Hans-Peter Höller, Georg Spitaler, Stefan Sandrini, Robert Müller, Elmar Pichler, Konrad Rauch and Manfred Runer.

Description

As Rudi Kofler reports, Lagrein is an indigenous grape variety that yields a wine of great character, which is not only vinified in red - its full-bodied version - but also in rosé. Preferably drunk in the warm summer months, this fruity rosé proves to be a very fresh and easy-drinking wine, and it is no coincidence that it is enjoying increasing success

Organoleptic characteristics:

Light, deep, bright pink colour with salmon reflections Very fruity bouquet with notes of raspberry and strawberry, and a slight hint of black cherry. On the palate this ino is very vinous and soft, with a very harmonious effect that contrasts well with its fruity and fresh acidity.

Storage time:

2-3 years

Vinification

Gentle whole cluster pressing and clarification of the must. This is followed by a slow, temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
