Description
Galatrona is an important Merlot-based Supertuscan. Tuscany's answer to Petrus according to Wine Spectator. It is a Petrolo 'Grand-Cru' from the vineyard of the same name planted in the late 1980s. It is an exceptional wine of great structure, elegance, balance and persistence.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Intense ruby red colour. The bouquet is elegant and complex at the same time and immediately reveals fruity notes reminiscent of blackberry, blueberry and plum. In the mouth it is enveloping, powerful, structured and very persistent.
Storage time:
15-25 years
Vinification
Manual harvesting in boxes and selection of grapes on a sorting table. Natural vinification with indigenous yeasts in tanks
of cement. Frequent but gentle manual pumping over. Long macerations.
