The Abbona family produces high quality wines, continuing, year after year, the work begun by the Marquises of Barolo more than two centuries ago There is a thread that binds people, vineyards, cellars and bottles: the knowledge and passion to produce wines that respect the unique characteristics of this wonderful territory with a very high wine vocation. Anna and Ernesto Abbona, together with their children Valentina and Davide, are the faithful interpreters of the diversity of places, vineyards and vines. They rigorously respect and preserve their typicality by vinifying grapes from their own vineyards and from vine growers selected over many years, favouring the location and cultivation capacity of the individual vineyards.

Description

The grapes that go into the production of this particular cuvée of Barolo come exclusively from 'Crus Storici' vineyards in the commune of Barolo on hills with a good slope, formed by calcareous clayey soils interspersed with compact layers of grey sandstone and covered with quartzose sands and very fine silt.

Organoleptic characteristics:

Garnet red colour, with ruby hues. The bouquet is intense and persistent with distinct hints of spices, cinnamon, absinthe, tobacco and wild rose. The taste is full and elegant, with soft, enveloping tannins. The spice and woodiness blend perfectly.

Storage time:

7-21 years

Gentle crushing and destemming; temperature-controlled fermentation in temperature-controlled tanks. Maceration on the skins with periodic soft pumping over. Malolactic fermentation in temperature-controlled vitrified cement vats
