Description
Alamos produces quality wines from Argentina, offering the best of Mendoza's high-altitude vineyards in every bottle. Alamos grapes are grown in the foothills of the Andes, at altitudes between 900 and 1500 metres, where intense sunlight, cool evening temperatures and mineral-rich irrigation from melting mountain snow result in rich wines with intense aromatic characteristics. Since it was introduced to the world in 1995, Alamos has become the world's most awarded Malbec in 2018 and 2019. Sustainably produced in Mendoza, Alamos represents the Argentine wine that everyone knows and loves, including the world's most renowned wine critics.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Luminous dark ruby. Heady aromas of plums and blackberries, spicy tones of cinnamon and vanilla hint at the ageing process and complement each other perfectly. The structure is dense and the tannins round and defined, but a measured and elegant acidity contributes to the sensation of a long passage in the mouth that is really hard to forget. It is a wine that displays those elegant aromas of violets, herbs and wild berries that only the best Malbecs are capable of expressing.
Storage time:
2-6 years
Vinification
The Malbec grapes were harvested by hand, destemmed and crushed. Prior to fermentation, the must underwent cold maceration for three days. Fermentation took place in vertical conical tanks for one week at a temperature of 85 °F. During fermentation, several pump-overs were carried out to extract colour and aroma.
