Palmento Costanzo

The historic Sicilian winery Palmento Costanzo was established on the northern slopes of Etna, within the volcano's Natural Park, a Unesco heritage site. The winery is located in Contrada Santo Spirito, which is the production area in Passo Pisciaro, awarded as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Attentive to the values of tradition and quality, the company aims to produce a wine that expresses the potential of the land, cultivated by hand and organically. Territoriality, the climatic and morphological peculiarities of the production areas, and respect for the environment are the values on which the company is founded. More than one hundred terraces, with dry lava stone walls, guard a vineyard cultivated using the alberello system, which climbs the slopes of the volcano from 600 to 800 metres above sea level: all the vines, even those more than a century old, are supported by chestnut stakes and surround the ancient Palmento, brought back to life through meticulous conservative bio-architectural restoration.
