Cellar
The Antinori have dedicated themselves to the art of wine-making for more than six hundred years: ever since Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri in 1385.
For 26 generations, the family has always directly managed this activity with innovative and sometimes courageous choices, but always maintaining unaltered respect for tradition and for the territory.
Every vintage, every soil, every idea is a new beginning, a new search for ever higher quality margins. As Marquis Piero likes to say: "ancient roots play an important role in our philosophy, but they have never inhibited our innovative spirit".
Description
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and a portion of Syrah for a rosé wine with decisive and intense aromas, characteristic of the Bolgheri terroir. The vineyard, as well as the wine, takes its name from the bandit "Scalabrone" who lived in this area in the early 19th century and is located on silty-clayey soils of predominantly alluvial origin, rich in pebbles.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Scalabrone 2022 shows a slightly discoloured peony pink colour. The nose shows intense red berry fruit notes, including cherry and pomegranate, accompanied by floral sensations of rose petals and hawthorn. On the palate it is pleasantly fruity, delicate and characterised by a nice freshness and persistence.
Storage time:
0-2 years
Vinification
Destemmed grapes were gently crushed and transferred to the press where they underwent a short maceration of approximately 2-4 hours at a low temperature. After pressing, the must reached the stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place at a controlled temperature of 16 °C.
