The Planeta family, of very ancient Spanish origin, has for 17 generations been committed to the promotion of Sicilian wine excellence, culminating in the great modern production reality we know today, an absolute protagonist of the Sicilian wine renaissance. The modern journey began in 1995 with the birth of the winery in Ulmo. Five estates in five different territories, Sambuca di Sicilia and Menfi (Agrigento), Vittoria (Ragusa), Noto (Siracusa), Castiglione di Sicilia (Catania) and Capo Milazzo (Messina). Different soils and climatic conditions give rise to different wines with a thousand facets, each with its own character and personality. A winemaking reality that has always been very attentive to environmental sustainability, so much so as to adhere to the 'Planeta Terra' project that has as its objectives: landscape protection, bio-architecture, renewable energy, recycled materials. With the 'Sostain' project, Planeta also combines traditional and organic viticulture with the application of scientific and technological innovations. A company that is always researching and studying native varieties, but at the same time also international varieties such as Chardonnay and Cabernet.
Description
The Planeta winery's Rosè is made from 50% Nero d'Avola and 50% Syrah grapes. From the vineyards surrounding the 1755 Dispensa Estate, hidden in the heart of the Menfi hills. From the sea to the hills, up to an altitude of 400 metres, the territory of Menfi hosts the largest extension of the estate's vineyards, cultivating more than 250 hectares, making precise choices to adapt our vines - native and international - to the specificities of each terroir. Born from viticulture conducted according to sustainability and organic criteria, it encapsulates all the emotions of the Sicilian summer. Refreshing, fresh with delicate fruity hints.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Soft pink onion skin colour
On the nose floral notes of hibiscus, fruity notes of fresh grapes, strawberries and pomegranate.
On the palate it is balanced, lively and fresh, reminiscent of meringue and reminiscent of the pulp of tobacco peaches.
Storage time:
1-2 years
Vinification
destemming and sending into a soft press for a short maceration of 1-2 hours to achieve perfect colour extraction; the must thus obtained, after decanting, is decanted and fermented at 15 °C in steel tanks
