In 1907, a small group of winegrowers decided to join forces to improve the quality of their labels, thus giving birth to the San Michele Appiano cooperative winery, which is today a reality that counts around three hundred and fifty members for an annual production that exceeds two million bottles. A veritable colossus, an absolute reference for the entire production world, not only in Alto Adige, that never fails to live up to expectations thanks to a range of unique reliability. From Gewürztraminer to Müller Thurgau, from Sauvignon to Riesling, from Pinot Bianco to Lagrein, each bottle is a perfect synthesis of the varietal from which it was born. Fresh and vibrant wines, characterised by a clear territorial appeal and surprising average quality.
Description
This grape variety of Teutonic origin has found a terroir of exceptional adoption in South Tyrol. Riesling needs special environmental conditions, which are present in the area of the volcanic lake of Monticolo, where the porphyritic soils give the wine its special character. The Monticolo Riesling is characterised by fruity aromas and mineral freshness that make it an increasingly popular wine.
