The Antinori have dedicated themselves to the art of wine-making for more than six hundred years: ever since Giovanni di Piero Antinori joined the Arte Fiorentina dei Vinattieri in 1385. For 26 generations, the family has always directly managed this activity with innovative and sometimes courageous choices, but always maintaining unaltered respect for tradition and for the territory. Every vintage, every soil, every idea is a new beginning, a new search for ever higher quality margins. As Marquis Piero likes to say: "ancient roots play an important role in our philosophy, but they have never inhibited our innovative spirit".

Description

Pian delle Vigne Rosso di Montalcino by Marchesi Antinori is a wine that brings out the pleasant fragrance of pure Sangiovese, a historic variety of Montalcino. The vineyards located on limestone-clay soils give life to a Rosso di Montalcino that is fresh, mineral and highly drinkable. The 2018 vintage was characterised by an excellent vegetative balance and optimal ripening of the grapes. Pian delle Vigne has always pursued the philosophy oriented towards the large barrel, capable of preserving the extraordinary integrity of the Sangiovese fruit and giving Brunello its characteristic vibrant elegance.

Organoleptic characteristics:

Pian delle Vigne Brunello di Montalcino has a ruby red colour. The nose is complex, balsamic hints of menthol and cloves combine with fruity sensations of cherry and plum, dates and spicy notes of cinnamon. On the palate, the entry is persuasive, silky, characterised by sweet tannins and supported by excellent freshness. The aftertaste is long, characterised by aromas of vanilla and violet, the latter being typical of Sangiovese.
