The Masciarelli Agricultural Estates were established in 1981 by the entrepreneurial intuition of Gianni Masciarelli, a symbolic figure on the Italian wine scene who is also credited with the establishment of modern Abruzzi wine production. The beating heart of the winery is San Martino sulla Marrucina, in the province of Chieti, and it has its own vineyards and olive groves in the four provinces of Abruzzo. 7 product lines make up the wine production: Villa Gemma, Iskra, Marina Cvetic, Castello di Semivicoli, Gianni Masciarelli, Linea Classica and La Botte di Gianni. After lengthy conservative restoration work, the Masciarelli company inaugurated Castello di Semivicoli, a 17th-century baronial palace that is now a relais de charme amidst the vineyards and the driving force behind wine tourism in the area. The Gianni Masciarelli line, desired by Marina Cvetic as a tribute to her professional and life companion, sees the light from the three vineyards of Remartello, Passo Cordone and Cocciapazza near Loreto Aprutino (Pescara), with lively, fruity wines designed for the restaurant industry, which best express the soul of Abruzzo. The company's second wine cellar is also located here, where the grapes are processed at 0 km, maintaining very high quality standards.
Description
The Marina Cvetic line takes us to the heart of the Masciarelli story: from the private and professional bond between Gianni and Marina, the product line that bears her name was born in 1991. Marina is an ambassador of Italian wine in the world. Since her arrival in Abruzzo, she has brought her own style to the company, immediately dedicating herself to the commercial area and touring the world several times over the last twenty years to make Montepulciano d'Abruzzo known and appreciated first and foremost. The 6 references, all in purity, offer an unexpected view of the Abruzzo wine scene, revealing the extraordinary wine vocation of Abruzzo and the great potential of its many "terroirs". Structured and elegant, Marina Cvetic's wines are a voice out of the chorus for the most discerning palates. Her Montepulciano d'Abruzzo has received numerous awards over the years, including inclusion in the 'World Top 100' of the American Wine Spectator magazine. A red of great complexity, freshness and balance, it has a fine, velvety tannic structure.
Organoleptic characteristics:

The nose is striking for its great complexity. A pot pourri of red flowers, followed by fruit under spirits, balsamic notes, spicy notes of liquorice and cardamom, aniseed with a return of red mulberries. On the palate it is exuberant with great freshness and balance, it has a fine and velvety tannic structure and a rich aromatic texture, deep and harmonious, it closes with rare cleanliness and is destined to give great emotions as the years go by.

Vinification
The different 'crus' are vinified separately with dedicated fermentation and maceration, then matured in barriques for 12/18 months. This is then followed by blending of the 'crus' and bottling with ageing in the bottle for a minimum of 6 months.
