The history of the Tommasi Group began in 1902 with a husband, a wife and a dream.
The historical context of the Belle Époque gives an idea of the frivolous and light breeze that swept through the city of Verona when Giacomo Battista Tommasi married Augusta in 1902 and went to live with his family.
While continuing to cultivate the family's land in Valpolicella, Giacomo already saw wine, no longer as a simple drink, but as a superior product for social occasions and celebrations.
That dream is now a family business based in Valpolicella Classica and estates throughout Italy. The fourth generation is at the helm. Each of the nine siblings and cousins preside over precise roles in the company and together manage the business and strategies, leading to the entry of the fifth generation.
Description
Le Fornaci Rosé is a blend of the indigenous Turbiana and Rondinella vines and represents a particular interpretation of terroir, the ideal meeting of the two shores of the lake: Turbiana from Tenuta Le Fornaci, just outside Sirmione, and Rondinella from an estate vineyard in Peschiera del Garda. The particular colouring of the wine is the result of meticulous work, from the careful selection of the grapes to the maniacal care during the pressing and vinification phases.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Soft pink with reflections reminiscent of rose petals introduces the rich bouquet: fragrant and fine, with aromas of pink grapefruit, peach blossom, hints of minerals and tangerine peel.
Matured in steel, it offers a fresh, elegant and subtle sip, with a vibrant acidity that brings back notes of citrus peel, with a lingering, harmonious finish.
Storage time:
2-3 years
Vinification
pressing of the grapes for 2 hours, from which the two flower musts are obtained. At the end of these delicate steps, the two musts are blended. The resulting batch is chilled, followed by racking, and then the selected yeasts are inoculated. Alcoholic fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature between 15° and 18° C for 10 days.
