In 1907, a small group of winegrowers decided to join forces to improve the quality of their labels, thus giving birth to the San Michele Appiano cooperative winery, which is today a reality that counts around three hundred and fifty members for an annual production that exceeds two million bottles. A veritable colossus, an absolute reference for the entire production world, not only in Alto Adige, that never fails to live up to expectations thanks to a range of unique reliability. From Gewürztraminer to Müller Thurgau, from Sauvignon to Riesling, from Pinot Bianco to Lagrein, each bottle is a perfect synthesis of the varietal from which it was born. Fresh and vibrant wines, characterised by a clear territorial appeal and surprising average quality.
Description
The local variety of Lagrein, thanks to selection in the vineyard and low yields, has become South Tyrol's leading native red wine. In the vineyard, warm and possibly sandy soils are preferred, while in the cellar for the Riserva, resting in wood is absolutely necessary. For the ageing of the Lagrein Riserva, grapes from the Bolzano area are used. The result is a complex red wine, which fascinates with its robust structure and diversity of aromas.
