In 1907, a small group of winegrowers decided to join forces to improve the quality of their labels, thus giving birth to the San Michele Appiano cooperative winery, which is today a reality that counts around three hundred and fifty members for an annual production that exceeds two million bottles. A veritable colossus, an absolute reference for the entire production world, not only in Alto Adige, that never fails to live up to expectations thanks to a range of unique reliability. From Gewürztraminer to Müller Thurgau, from Sauvignon to Riesling, from Pinot Bianco to Lagrein, each bottle is a perfect synthesis of the varietal from which it was born. Fresh and vibrant wines, characterised by a clear territorial appeal and surprising average quality.
Description
The 'Fallwind' line is inspired by the wind that blows across the entire cultivation area of Cantina San Michele Appiano. It is the element that gives its wines extraordinary aromatic characteristics, freshness and great longevity. Pinot Noir is one of the oldest cultivated grape varieties. It is a vine that requires much care and represents a real challenge in the vineyard and in the cellar. The Pinot Noir Riserva matures for a minimum of two years in the cellar. The result is an elegant wine, which does not fear comparison with the international scene. For the Riserva, the wine is matured for 70% in barriques and for 30% in large barrels.
Organoleptic characteristics:
It has a luminous ruby red colour. The nose is expressed with notes of violets, intense aromas of cherries, blackcurrants, seductive balsamic notes, dark spices followed by roasted coffee aromas.
In the mouth it is silky, warm, elegant, with a smooth tannic texture accompanied by a good savouriness and an exhilarating taste balance. The finish is long and persistent.
Storage time:

Vinification
Fermentation in steel. Afterwards 12 months of ageing in barrique-tonneau with malolactic fermentation. Followed by blending and further maturation in concrete barrels.
