Cellar

Situated on the slopes of the Taurasi hills, in one of the most vocated areas of Irpinia, the Nativ winery stands in the heart of Paternopoli, a land rich in history and tradition, where Mario Ercolino, an internationally renowned oenologist, and Maria Roberta Pirone, a 'food science specialist', are a couple who successfully dedicate themselves to the production of wines from native Irpinia vines, with the aim of making Wines of Excellence, the result of important and deep-rooted experience in the sector. The company, founded in 2008, is dedicated to the production of wines typical of the territory, in particular, Fiano di Avellino, Greco di Tufo, Falanghina, Aglianico and Aglianico di Taurasi. The grapes are cultivated on their own land, known for its particular fertility due to the volcanic soil, and extend over about 15 hectares, between Paternopoli and Taurasi. The name NATIV was therefore created to represent, through the native productions, the origin of Irpinian Viticulture, thus delineating the concept of 'native of the place'. The peculiarities of the territory and the mountain (due to its proximity to the Picentini mountains) of the Mediterranean climate determine strong productive distinctions and situations of extreme originality and heterogeneity in the wines of the area, giving rise to wines with supreme characteristics, characterised by aromatic complexity, a velvety, full and elegant taste, and an intense and delicate aroma.

Description

Eremo San Quirico Gold, an important red wine whose vines are grown on volcanic soil in the Taurasi hills. The name of our wine derives from the place where horses were once said to have grazed in the wild, and where the remains of the ancient hermitage of S. Quirico can still be found.
Eremo Gold is the selection of the best Eremo barriques. On the occasion of the last bottling, before the Christmas period, each Eremo barrique is personally tasted by the oenologist Ercolino, who personally selects the best aromas and refinements.

Organoleptic characteristics:

Intense ruby Ample olfactory bouquet, ripe red fruits, spices and taurasi maiatica cherry, dried dark flowers, slight hints of spices, balsamic herbs, rosemary and liquorice, leather and chocolate. The sip is of surprising integrity of the fruit, velvety with jammy cielgia, small notes of cocoa, soft tannins of long persistence.

Storage time:

10 years

Vinification

At the end of fermentation, the wine obtained is separated from the skins and put to age in new 2.25 HL French oak barriques for a period of 12 months. The grapes are harvested by hand and arrive at the winery transported in small 20 kg crates. They are crushed and pressed and macerated for about 20 days in stainless steel silos, where they undergo the alcoholic fermentation process.
