The history of Tenuta Santì'Antimo began in the early 1980s, when Carlo Vittori - already a consultant to well-known and consolidated companies - purchased the first lands in the South/South-West part of the now famous Montalcino Hill near the characteristic village of Castelnuovo dell'Abate. In this initiative he obtained the natural involvement of the entire Vittori family in participating in the investment on those lands. Soon, the holographic and expositive characteristics of those lands gave reason to the goodness of the 'bet' that Carlo Vittori made on them. Today, the major companies producing Brunello also own at least part of their vineyards in the Castelnuovo dell'Abate area. At the beginning of the 1990s, the Molino di Sant'Antimo winery could count on over 40 hectares of land, half of which were cultivated with vines and olive trees, the remainder surrounded by splendid woods and Mediterranean scrub.
