Born in 1858 from the love story between the King of Italy, Victor Emmanuel II and Rosa Vercellana. It has always been a community, united around respect for the land, now with 120 hectares certified ORGANIC, which are the setting for Italy's first Narrative Village.
Fontanafredda is among the largest private producers of Barolo. Iconic Barolo such as Barolo Serralunga d'Alba and Barolo classico or small niche productions such as Barolo Vigna La Rosa, Vigna La Villa, Vigna La Delizia, Vigna Gallareto, Vigna S. Pietro, Vigna Bianca and Barolo Riserva Bussia, or the M.G.A. Fontanafredda.
Annual production represents about 6% of the entire denomination. The most important DOC and DOCG of lower Piedmont, working over a vast territory allows the company to guarantee constant quality, divided between Barolo, Barbaresco, Nebbiolo, Barbera, Dolcetto and other typical reds for the 44%, Arneis, Gavi, Chardonnay, Moscato and other typical whites for the 26%, Alta Langa Metodo Classico and Asti spumante for the 30%.
