Description
Don Papa Gayuma is a super premium product that pays homage to the unique rituals performed by the shamans of Mount Kanlaon and Isla del Fuego ('the island of fire'). The rum, whose name refers to a 'love potion', is aged in American ex-bourbon oak casks for three years, before going through a double cask finish: 6 months in highly toasted ex-Rioja casks followed by 3 months in rich, warm and smoky toasted oak casks that previously contained Scotch whisky from the legendary Isle of Islay.
Organoleptic characteristics:
It has a dark amber colour. The nose expresses pleasant roasted and smoky notes. In the mouth it is intense, soft and delicate with hints of cloves and mint.
Pleasant and long finish with smoky notes.
Storage time:
over 20 years
Vinification
fermentation of sugar cane molasses and distillation in copper stills
