Cellar

The Niedermayr family's Hof Gandberg wine estate stands on the sunny slope above San Michele in Appiano, where, around a typical South Tyrolean farm at 530 m above sea level, the grapes destined for the cellar and finally the bottle are born and ripen. Thomas, a young winemaker following the example of his father Rudy, has been an organic pioneer for more than twenty years and since 2013 has dedicated himself with enormous enthusiasm and continuous research to Piwi varieties, i.e. varieties resistant to the main vine diseases, which make it possible to maintain a natural balance of the ecosystem, avoid invasive phytosanitary treatments, and obtain healthy wines with great personality and exceptional results. Keeping the entire production process, from vine to bottle, uncontaminated is a great challenge. For Thomas Niedermayr, the process starts right from the beginning. In the soil. In the mother earth itself. Only healthy, fertile soil can grow strong, flourishing plants. Whoever treads the soil of the estate comes across Indian ducks, chickens, lovingly tended gardens in which vegetables and herbs thrive, and immediately notices the wild plants growing among the vines. Solaris, Bronner, Sauvigner gris, and Carbernet Carbon are among the outstanding wines from the Hof Gandferg estate.

Description

From the vineyards of the Hof Gandberg Estate located in Appiano Monte between 500 and 700 metres above sea level comes this juicy nectar, the fruit of passion, research and care of the Niedermayr family. In a vital environment, natural wines from Piwi (mushroom-resistant) varieties grow. Solaris 2019 is a sincere wine with an elegantly fruity and spicy character.
