They own two single malt distilleries - the Tomintoul Distillery, located in the heart of Scotland's Cairngorms National Park, and the Glencadam Distillery, located in the ancient town of Brechin, in Scotland's Eastern Highlands - each producing their own range of award-winning Single Malt Scotch Whiskies. The bottling and production plant is located in Coatbridge, on the outskirts of Glasgow. Our Scotch whisky is sold in blended, deluxe blended, single malt, blended malt and single cask varieties. We supply whisky in bulk for local bottling.
Description
Smokey Joe is Blended Malt Scotch Whisky, containing a blend of single malts from different distilleries. It is distilled on the island of Islay, off the southwest coast of Scotland. Islay malts derive their characteristics from both the local peat used to dry the barley and the proximity to the sea. Sipping it, one almost has the sensation of being in front of a smoky sea and is literally bewitched by this peculiarity, which is further enhanced by the fact that this spirit is bottled at 46% volume in alcohol and is not subjected to any filtration in order to keep its unique characteristics intact and emphasise its finesse of taste.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Intense golden yellow colour with amber highlights. The nose is intense with echoes of smoke, mixed with refined marine hints and citrus and woody notes sweetened by light fruity notes of pear and melon.
The palate is balanced between peaty and spicy perceptions of black pepper with a savoury finish.
Storage time:
over 20 years
Vinification
Distilled and matured for a minimum of 3 years from a blend of single malts from different distilleries. It has not undergone cold filtration nor has caramel been added.
