It all began in 2000, when Elena Fucci decided not to sell and give the beautiful vineyards surrounding the family home another chance. The vineyards had been acquired in the 1960s by her grandfather Generoso, buying the highest part of the estates located in Contrada Solagna del Titolo at the foot of Monte Vulture. Over the years, Elena Fucci's great-grandfather and grandfather had taken care of the vineyards, limiting themselves to selling the grapes and producing for self-consumption. Elena Fucci made a sudden change of direction, thus changing her life's plans and those of her family: she decided to invest in the land and the resource that had allowed her father and even earlier her grandparents and great-grandparents to live and grow in Vulture. The winery thus came to life with the 2000 harvest, in parallel with his university studies at the Faculty of Viticulture and Oenology. The choice of the company is to focus on a single product, the 'TITOLO'. a single wine for objective reasons related to vineyard yields and the quality given by the ripeness of the vines; a single wine to best represent the specificity of Aglianico and the territoriality of Vulture, which offers this vine a unique expression; a mix of microclimate and terroir that in Contrada Solagna del Titolo gives one of the best possible expressions.

Description

SCEG is a project led by Elena Fucci, which draws its fruit from small plots of old vines that are over seventy years old and in danger of being abandoned. The name Sceg, means pomegranate in Arbëreshë, which is a dialect spoken by the Albanians who emigrated to southern Italy centuries ago.
SCEC (pronounced Sheg) is organically grown Aglianico.

Organoleptic characteristics:

Bright aromas of violets, crushed cherries and dried hibiscus are fresh in the wine's nose. It is round and juicy on the palate, yet light to the touch. There is a good balance between bursting berries and soft tannins, with cherry skins and a light violet tone that lingers in the finish.

Storage time:

2-3 years

Vinification

Whole cluster fermentation in stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation. Maceration for about 14/15 days
