1960, the passion of Sergio Zenato was born in San Benedetto di Lugana. A story of passion and work; of full identity with its territory and its people; of entrepreneurial ability and openness to innovation with new winemaking techniques and investment in native vines.
A story that from the shores of Lake Garda has reached the hills of nearby Valpolicella, where the company's reds are born from the sunny vineyards of Corvina and Rondinella at Costalunga, in the municipality of Sant'Ambrogio.
Description
Sansonina from the Zenato winery is made from 100% Merlot grapes. A few rows of old vines running along the bank of a small moat, rare bottles of precious wine sipped on special occasions, this is how it has been done for more than fifty years at the Sansonina winery.
Numbered bottles.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Intense ruby red colour, very deep;
Aroma rich and compact, ample, complex, warm and fruity; notes of ripe red fruit, plum jam, cherry, blueberry, cocoa, toasted, with very slight balsamic nuances and an almost imperceptible touch of herbaceousness;
Full, warm, full-bodied and very elegant flavour at the same time, round, soft, caressing, with extraordinary aromatic persistence.
Storage time:
2-7 years
Vinification
The grapes are harvested in crates with maximum respect for their integrity; after destemming and crushing, the must is transferred to wooden vats where the fermentation temperature can be controlled.
After alcoholic fermentation and further maceration on the skins, the new wine is put into new French barriques with different toastings as soon as possible.
