Cellar
The Banfi winery was founded in 1978 by the Italian-American brothers John and Harry Mariani. Right from the start, the two brothers envisaged a large-scale project, integrating quality wine production with a modern winery with the aim of always maintaining the high quality level of the wines produced. Working alongside the Mariani family was Ezio Rivella, one of Italy's greatest oenologists, who immediately felt that due to the richness of the soil nature and the privileged microclimatic position, the territories acquired would have great potential for development.
In those years, the brothers John and Harry also took over the historic Piedmontese wine house Bruzzone, active since 1860 and specialised in the production of sparkling wines, to make it the group's Piedmontese brand, today Banfi Piemonte.
Description
Banfi's Poggio alle Mura is a great classic that comes from vineyards located between the Orcia and Ombrone rivers, a land that has always been devoted to wine-making excellence.
Organoleptic characteristics:
A fresh, fruity wine with intense red fruit aromas that combine well with notes of liquorice, tobacco and hazelnut. Wine with a broad and consistent structure. Long and pleasant finish in the mouth.
