Funiati is a family-run business characterised by the production of territorial wines derived from the exclusive vinification of carefully selected proprietary grapes. The business started in 2020, thanks to the stubbornness of Marco Funiati who, after ten years abroad, decided to return to Salento to give continuity to the family farm. Funiati - Artigiani Viticoltori is characterised by the creation of authentic wines from the exclusive vinification of carefully selected estate grapes. The vineyards are located in San Pancrazio Salentino, a few kilometres from the sea, in the Salice Salentino DOC area, known for its strong wine vocation. The varieties grown are native to Salento: Negroamaro, Primitivo, Fiano and Susumaniello.
Description
From the union of the austerity of Negroamaro with the full-bodiedness of Primitivo, comes the Morigine red wine: a frank and authentic wine, where the minimal passage in wood plays an elegant role, not at all covering it up. Limited edition bottles from quality grapes harvested by hand.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Intense ruby red. Small, crisp black fruits and juicy cherries dominate, all enriched by notes of Mediterranean scrub and hints of cloves. The sip, in keeping with its aromas, is rich and agile, with a fruity centre of mouth and young but balanced tannins. A red wine of incredible versatility.
Storage time:
2-5 years
Vinification
Manual harvesting at the end of September, gentle crushing and cooling of the must, 15-day fermentation maceration, soft pressing, ageing in medium toasted wood for 4 months
