2019 marks the 10th anniversary of Jeany and Stephen, who sold their house in London and moved to Provence with the idea of creating an exciting wine brand. They are delighted that Mirabeau's award-winning wines are now sold in 50 countries and that their dream of buying a beautiful wine estate has finally been realised. Domaine Mirabeau falls within the new sub-region of the Côtes de Provence AOC, Notre Dame des Anges. The 20-hectare estate comprises 14 hectares of vineyards (mainly Grenache, Cinsault and Rolle) and enjoys a Mediterranean climate with warm summers, intense sunlight and a prevailing east wind. In contrast to the rest of the region, which is dominated by low, soft 'garrigue' scrub, this part of Provence is markedly different, with evergreen 'maquis' scrub and stony soil consisting of pink sandstone and sandy soils. Stephen and Jeany are deeply committed to the environment and to finding a way to produce top wines while at the same time cultivating in a way that respects and preserves the surrounding ecosystem, and are in the process of converting to organic farming.
