Description
Masseto is a great Tuscan wine of refined elegance from the Bolgheri area of the Masseto estate, part of the group controlled by the Frescobaldi family. It is one of the best Italian red wines for its ability to combine structure and richness with aromatic finesse and voluminosity in the mouth. It was the first Italian wine to win a 100/100 rating from Parker for two consecutive years.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Almost black in colour, the nose reveals a rich and ripe expression of black fruits, with hints of spice and liquorice. On the palate, the wine manages to combine great intensity and ripeness of the fruit with a remarkable sense of balance and freshness. The tannins create a dense and velvety structure, with a
lingering fruity finish and a vibrant acidity that lend a touch of freshness. Despite being the result of one of the hottest vintages, the 2017 can be considered a typical Masseto, with its unmistakable combination of richness and elegance
