L'Azienda Agricola Sandro de Bruno, was established in 2002 by Sandro Tasoniero and his wife Marina Ferraretto, with the aim of producing wines that best represent the vocation of the territory in which they are born. The wine-growing area is located in the Soave and Lessini Mountains, between the municipalities of Montecchia di Crosara and Terrossa di Roncà, volcanic and particularly suited lands. In the vineyard, the principles of Integrated and Sustainable Agriculture are applied in all the processes that produce the wine, from the vineyard to the cellar.
This involves the use of ecologically sustainable and environmentally friendly farming techniques to preserve the natural environment. Interventions are therefore reduced to a minimum, aimed only at necessity and aimed at achieving a natural and stable balance without interfering with nature. Fertilisation is only organic and certified, without any chemical synthesis products, as is the removal of weeds in the vineyard, which is carried out without the use of synthetic herbicides. The wines originate from volcanic soils, where the grapes, thanks also to the excellent exposure, develop great character and mineral aromas.
Description
Lessini Durello DOC Riserva Millesimato 2016 from the Sandro De Bruno winery is a Metodo Classico sparkling wine that comes from volcanic soils at 600 metres above sea level, on Monte Calvarina in the province of Verona. It is made with 90% of Durella grapes and a small percentage of Pinot Bianco, which gives it roundness. Thanks to the large presence of basaltic rocks in the soil, Lessini Durello has evident saline and mineral notes of flint. The long ageing on the lees gives it a fine and very persistent perlage, a complex bouquet on the nose and a pleasantly dry and fresh sip.
Vintage 2016. Disgorgement 2024.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Brilliant golden yellow colour, numerous bubbles developing into a fine, elegant perlage.
Intense and complex bouquet, with distinct mineral sensations of flint. Rich, tropical nose, with hints of pineapple, papaya and mango, nectarine and candied citrus fruit. There are fragrant hints of bread crust and sweet almonds, then floral sensations of acacia and jasmine. In closing, aromatic herbs, mainly thyme and sage. Creamy, rich, elegant and with a long persistence, accompanied by a savoury and pleasantly bitter finish.
