Tenuta Guado al Tasso, one of the most important wineries of the Antinori Group, is located in the hills of the Alta Maremma, in the small and charming DOC Bolgheri. The estate covers an area of 320 hectares planted with vineyards, in a splendid plain surrounded by hills known as the "Bolgheri amphitheatre" for its particular conformation. The vineyards of Guado al Tasso are mainly composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Vermentino grapes.
Description
The wine is made exclusively from Merlot grapes harvested by hand, from the Tenuta Guado al Tasso vineyards in the small, prestigious DOC area of Bolgheri. It is a great Merlot, balanced, round, soft and with a long persistence.
Organoleptic characteristics:
It has a deep red colour. It presents itself on the nose with an intense bouquet of ripe red fruits, cherry, blueberry, enriched by aromas of sweet spices. On the palate the wine is well-balanced, round, soft and long lasting. The harmony and pleasantness of the fruity aftertaste are the elements that characterise it.
Storage time:
5-7 years
Vinification
After manual harvesting and careful selection in the cellar, the grapes were transferred to thermo-conditioned stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation and maceration took place over a period of about 20 days.
