Description
The Big Peat an exceptional whisky from Douglas Laing, a blend of single malts exclusively from the legendary island of Islay containing small portions of the distillates of Ardberg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and also Port Ellen. It has a racy and sweet character. An unusual detail that makes this product incredible is that no 'vatted malt' label tends to indicate the selected malts.
Organoleptic characteristics:
Golden colour to the eye. The nose has fresh iodine and balsamic notes such as aniseed combined with sweet hints of vanilla and hummus, chocolate and almonds. On the palate it is explosive, with its peaty character, smoky, marine notes, and a liquorice finish.
Storage time:
over 20 years
Vinification
Distilled and matured for a minimum of 3 years from a blend of Single Malts sourced exclusively from the legendary island of Islay .
It undergoes no colouring process, no cold filtration and no alcohol reduction, resulting in an authentic, genuine and richly aromatic product. Made from what are known as Small Batch, or small batches of casks carefully selected to ensure quality and rarity.
