The name derives from 'Mastri Calafati' they were those who were able to make boats safe for navigation at sea, waterproofing them with the use of a simple rope and pitch. The company was founded in 2011 by a group of young friends who saw in Lorenzo Citti's proposal to hand over his historic vineyards, the opportunity to create a virtuous model of respect for people and land. From day one, thanks to the tireless help of other Lucchesi companies, the biodynamic agronomic approach has been the only one adopted in the vineyard. Clean wines have always been produced in an artisanal manner with full respect for tradition and place. The company, which today cultivates about 30 hectares and employs more than 20 young people, is located in the municipality of Lucca and more precisely in the vocated hills of Maulina and Morianese for wine production. The recovery of some centuries-old vineyards has given rise to Majulina and Gronda, the two most representative wines that excellently reflect the terroir.
