Veuve Clicquot's Brut Saint-Petersbourg comes from the same blend as the ever-pleasing Yellow Label, the company's most iconic Champagne. Pinot Noir in the majority, with a skilful addition of Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. The name Cuv\u00e8e Saint-Petersbourg is linked to a famous episode in the life of Madame Clicquot who, back in 1814, managed to export bottles of Champagne all the way to Russia, despite the blockade that immobilised trade in Europe, and had them arrive safely at the St Petersburg court. It was a memorable success and this event consecrated the fortune of the maison within the rich Russian nobility.
